Quality

Businesses can have specific issues of quality over one process or a need for a Quality approach encompassing the whole business. There is usually nothing possible in between these two.

Interest in the Quality Process and ISO9000 probably peaked in the early 1990s and now many question its value. The new ISO9000 (ISO9000:2000) process is very different to the earlier versions. It is no longer the bureaucratic paper chase of before, and the benefits to the company of following the ISO9000 process usually come much quicker. Research and Development

The phrase is often associated with big business and large budgets. Every business, whether manufacturing or service should be interested in improving itself and should have a research and development programme. In some cases this programme may be very simple in other cases larger and a more significant spend.

There are three ways we can often help with Research and Development :

• Finding an expert to offer assistance. Sometimes a process is most of the way complete but needs a little help to complete. There are often experts who can give advice at affordable rates. Talk to us if this is your problem.
• Grants. There can be generous grants for any Research and Development that leads to some form of Intellectual Property or process efficiency gain. Grant money is sometimes available for introducing into the UK processes currently only in operation overseas. See our grants page.
• Finding partners in research. There are often non-competing businesses interested in the same developments as yourself. It can make sense to share the research programme.
